John Cullers and Dalton Caldwell became friends while attending Eastwood High School in El Paso, Texas.
After high school, John received a degree in Construction from Arizona State University and an MBA from Southern Methodist University before beginning his career as a builder in 1979.
While studying Electrical Engineering at the University of Texas at El Paso, Dalton worked in the electrical field on residential, commercial, and industrial projects. He eventually became a Master Electrician and started his own company, Caldwell Electrical Contractors. In 1986, he partnered with John to create Cullers & Caldwell Builders.
John and Dalton saw a need in El Paso for an experienced builder that focused on high-quality, luxury homes and so they set out to fill that need. After more than 30 years, Cullers & Caldwell Builders has built over 200 homes in El Paso and established itself as the preeminent luxury home builder in the El Paso region. It has expanded its range of capabilities beyond home building to include high-end apartments, commercial office spaces, family retreats, and remodels.
By design, we are not a volume builder. In fact, we only build a limited number of select homes each year. This allows us to ensure that each home receives the highest level of craftsmanship and attention to detail as we bring the most challenging architectural designs to life.
Focusing on a limited number of homes each year also allows us to provide unmatched personal service and attentiveness to our clients’ needs. When our clients entrust us with building their home, we commit ourselves to ensuring that every detail is exactly as they envision. To accomplish this, we maintain regular communication with every client and make ourselves personally available to answer any questions. This level of personal service persists throughout every stage of construction and continues even after each home is complete.
